Chrysler’s Imperial gets the green light

Chrysler Imperial (Concept Vehicle)

The luxury vehicle concept from Chrysler that closely resembles the Rolly Royce Phantom appears to be heading for production lines.  According to the Toronto Star, Chrysler execs have approved the production of the Imperial which will be built in the Brampton Ontario plant from which the 300, Dodge Charger and Challenger are also produced.

There is no official word on how closely the production vehicle will resemble the concept, nor has Chrysler released any details regarding official pricing. A Chrysler insider has stated that, while the company has pushed the corporate image upmarket with the 300, they are not ready for a $50,000 vehicle, and some market analysts have suggested that pricing for the Imperial could likely range from $5,000 - $7,000 above the 300.
One thing is for sure. With the release of the Imperial, Chrysler will soon challenge Lincoln and Cadillac as a new player in the American premium segment.

    Sweet video.

this car looks a bit TOO much like a bently, which totally makes it a cheap tryhard knockoff in my mind. 300 is so much the superior car.

Whatever… the car in the photos are CONCEPTS. That means they will probably look a bit different then what you’re seeing by the time they make production. I think its a good idea. If young hollywood catches on to these, they might fly off the lots. I could see a lot of Americans pimping these out a la huge chrome rims, tinted windows, and lowered suspension.
I’d drive one if the price was right. But gas prices are screaming NO!

Every since the peek preview back in early 2005. I have been waiting to see the total package this car will come with in 2008. Then just a month ago my sister’s daughter had her wedding and there sits a Chrysler Imperial with the full package.
I am wondering how did they get a car that was not available to my knowledge until the end of 2008?

I have a 2004 Sebring and I enjoy the way the car handle city and highway, so am looking forward to this added edition to the chryler big car rear-wheel drive. The only problem I can see is the horsepower versus torque for this size of automoble. The gas consumption may present a slight problem, but I am loving everything about this car and the traditional styling that sets this car apart from competitors. If Cadillac can make a six cyclinder that runs on regular and has a higher MPG city and highway without the power. Then Chrylser should be able to add that concept to engine design without loss power train capability and ride comfort.

With this car unlike the 300 which I have seen altered in various paint colors and tire/wheel styles. To the pimping out don’t touch the classic classy styling of the Imperial which makes it untouchable as the Cadillac.Perfection at it’s finest. Thanks Chrylser for stepping up.
