Volkswagen Passat

Volkswagen Passats from 2000-2003 are being investigated by the NHTSA after 19 reports of fires underhood. Preliminary investigation seems to point to faulty ignition coil packs. So far, the problem has only affected the four and six cyl engines that run on gasoline, meaning that TDI owners are in the clear for now. Volkswagen has not issued a recall, but if it is determined that a recall is necessary, the VeeDub could be looking at repairing upwards of 35,000 cars.

    Thats bad news for VW.
I have a friend with an 02 jetta. He’s had so many electrical problems I don’t even think I’d ever consider one. Not unlit VW cleans up their act anyway.
