Honestly, We’re not entirely sure what this guy was attempting to do here, but we’re guessing he felt a bit like a douchebag afterwards. According to the YouTube user who submitted the video, the Veyron was being driven by a test driver at a local meeting in France.

Is Bentley Getting Veyron Power?

Bently Arnage Are we the only ones who think sticking 987 horses under the hood of a 2.5 tonne brick is a bad idea? According to Autocar, Bentley sources have confirmed a prototype Arnage that makes use of the Bugatti Veyron’s 987bhp quad-turbo W16 engine. Volkswagen owns both Bentley and Bugatti, so this is not so hard to believe. In fact, Franz-Josef Paefgen, the boss of Bentley and acting president of Bugatti, is said to have been the driving force behind the project.

If you know anything about the Veyron, you’ll know that it was designed with purpose. Every little part, every shape in the body pannels, - even the open design of the engine - was built in such a way as to help the car go as blazingly fast as physics would allow. So obviously, dropping such a beast of an engine under the hood (at the front btw) of a car that looks about as aerodynamic as a greased up fat man in biker shorts could turn out pretty badly. Fortunately there is no plans to actually produce such an abomination at this point.

Move over, Bugatti. Guiness Verifies SSC Ultimate Aero speed record!

SSC Ultimate Aero Move over, Bugatti! The Shelby Supercars Ultimate Aero is now officially the world’s fastest production car. A 71 year old driver named Chuck Bigelow took SSC’s Ultimate Aero for two passes on highway 221 in Washington state. The first pass reached 257.45 mph, the second at 254.92 mph. The official record speed was 256.19 mph. Guiness officials were on hand to witness a the recordbreaking attempt that supersedes the Bugatti Veyron’s still-unofficial time of 254 mph. (Despite being validated unofficially by Top Gear’s James May).

Word is, Koenigsegg and McLaren are both talking about taking runs in new cars of their own, and Bugatti has yet to respond. Could we be in the midst of a top speed arms race? God, I hope so!

Bugatti Veyron

Alright. Just in case you’ve been living under a rock for the past couple of years, let me introduce to you the current fastest production car in the world, the Bugatti Veyron. This thing is a feat of engineering wizardry. Capable of a top speed of 250+ mph (400+ kph), a zero-to-60 time of three seconds, a zero-to-180 time of 14 seconds, and a price tag that exceeds $1.2 million, the Veyron is not for the faint of heart. Powered by a quad turbo W-16 engine that produces 1,001 horsepower, the car needs 10 radiators to keep things cool and inhales 5,000 liters of air per minute! If you were to take the Veyron to a track and go flat out, within 15 minutes the tires would begin to disintegrate. But don’t worry, that will never ever happen…You’ll run out of fuel in 12.

Now, as for the videos we promised you: While scouring the web to find some interesting content to bring to you, we hit up Youtube and searched for Bugatti. To our pleasure, we encountered a couple of videos where the Veyron was pitted against some incredibly fast cars in a race.

Warning: What you are about to see may cause you to become euphoric and possibly require a change of pants. For that reason, you’ll have to make the jump to see the videos!
