Toyota has announced that the Japanese domestic market can expect the IS-F to hit the sales floor on December 25th. The entry level luxury sedan exemplifies a new level of performance for Lexus through ” refinement of basic performance with the addition of new cruising technology. The vehicle was developed to pursue, to the fullest extent possible, the “joy of driving” — which is one of the fundamental appeals of the automobile — by responding reliably and performing as intended.” That’s according to the Toyota PR team anyway.
All we know is this is one hot car. Stunningly good looking, the IS-F boasts some impressive performance figures too. The 4.9L engine produces 423 horses at 6,600 RPM, and 372 ft-lb of torque at 5,200 RPM. The engine uses some pretty advanced technologies too, such as variable valve timing for air induction, as well as both direct port fuel injection systems.
The price of the car is begins at ¥7,600,000, which when converted to USD turns into roughly $65,170. You can read Toyota Japan’s official press release here.
