Ok, so the video is a bit on the amateur side, but its always cool to watch supercars take on superbikes.
In this case, we’ve got a 731 horsepower Dodge Viper racing against a 164 horsepower Suzuki Hayabusa. There’s a definite weight advantage for the bike, but the Viper just has so many more ponies. Oh, did we mention that both vehicles are modified?
Enjoy!

I came across something pretty interesting today while scouring the web for the latest automotive news. While this is certainly nothing new, I’d like to present you with Volkswagen’s answer to Ferrari. What you’re about to see is the promotional video for the 2001 Volkswagen Nardo concept car.
This movie requires Flash Player 8
The Nardo had a top speed of 217 mph and reached 62 mph in around 3.5 seconds.i Powered by Volkswagens W12 engine, it has twice broken the world 24 hour speed record. In February 2002 it covered a distance of 7,749.4 kilometers at an average speed of 322.89 km/h.
Weighing just 1200kg, it is one of the fastest sports cars in the world.
I’m not entirely sure why it wasn’t made, although I would guess that it would cannibalize sales from Lamborghini, whom Volkswagen owns.
Either way, this was a sweet car!

Honestly, We’re not entirely sure what this guy was attempting to do here, but we’re guessing he felt a bit like a douchebag afterwards. According to the YouTube user who submitted the video, the Veyron was being driven by a test driver at a local meeting in France.

Well, folks. What can I say? Its Saturday, my internet connection is about as sketchy as the guy with a moustache parked in a rusty brown van outside my house with binoculars aimed at my window, and there’s not much going on in the automotive world today.
Therefore, I decided to hit up the Tube of You and try and find some content interesting enough for y’all to keep subscribing to my RSS feeds. I know, I know… its a hard life.
This video shows a clip of Ken Block jumping a Subaru WRX STI over 170 feet.

Retardiculous, eh?! Make the jump to see another video of Block’s latest…uh…jump and then a bunch of Kiwi’s snowboarding.

You know, aside from a few problems, such as self-immolation, shoddy build quality, and lackluster power, the Pontiac Fiero was a pretty cool car. But nothing as cool as the commercial you’re about to watch. This video makes me want to bring back the 80s in a big, bad way!

The bugs are still being worked out of Audi’s 580hp RS 6 sedan, caught testing in Germany on the infamous Nurburgring. Fitted with a twin turbo V10 engine, and a permanent quattro 4 wheel drive suspension, the RS 6 is fast enough to keep up with many supercars, yet the company claims its ride quality is also extremely tame, making the vehicle good for daily driving and long journeys.

The Lamborghini Reventon is an astonishing piece of work. Only 20 examples are being built, each one selling for a ridiculous $1,000,000 sum. Sorry though, if you’re rich and crazy enough to want one. All 20 have been spoken for. Powered by the Mucielago LP640 v12 engine, the Reventon is capable of thrusting itself from 0-60 in just 3.4 seconds, and will only stop accelerating once the speedometer shows as going 211 miles per hour.
We have a video of Popular Science car reporter William R. Snyder as he took Reventon for its first test drive by the press. Warning: The video may cause slight arousal, and therefore we’ve moved the video after the jump.

We found a video of the Nissan GT-R running around the Nurburgring. Filmed through a couple of interior cameras, you can definitely get a sense of what its like to try and round the track as fast as possible.
Enjoy!

The R8 currently in development by Audi is being billed by the company as the slowest car they’ve ever built. At least according to a new ad campaign. Now obviously the supercar, which shares many components with the Lamborghini Gallardo is anything but slow, but in a commercial airing in Britain, Audi demonstrates their lengthy, meticulous, build process. Supposedly the advert cost 6 million pounds, and we’ve got it below for your eyes to feast upon.

What you see here is was an SUV called the Landwind, manufactured by Chinese carmaker Jiangling. It has the distinct honor of being the first Chinese vehicle ever exported to Europe, arriving in the summer of 2005. In case you weren’t already aware, Chinese car makers are trying very hard to break into the North American Market, and will finally be displaying their products in the next Detroit Auto show. First though, their vehicles need to meet minimum standards in safety, emissions, noise, quality, etc. Not always an easy task, as our industry peers Autoblog showed us with their coverage of China’s “Brilliance” coupe.
If you recall, we reported on the safety concerns of SUV’s earlier in the week. Well, the JMC Landwind must go through the same paces as everyone else, and we’ve got a video showing you exactly how that one went… (Sorry, the audio is only in French.)

This test, carried out for EuroNCAP demonstrated that the driver of this vehicle would not have survived a head-on collision at only 40 MPH.
The JMC Landwind is mostly derived from older imported technology and design, in this case the Isuzu Rodeo (Sold from 1991 to 1998). In China, the Landwind is called Baowei, and it is also available as a pickup truck, called the Baodian.
